Scriptures
These are examples of scripture the Roberts group uses to justify cutting off ties with the family;
Micah 7:5,6 Trust ye not in a friend, put not ye confidence in a guide: keep the doors of the mouth from her that lieth on your bosom. For the son dishonoreth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are those of his own house.
Matthew 10:34-38 I am not come to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance with his father, and the daughter against he motherÖ and a man's foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me.
Luke 14:26 If any man come to me and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
Luke 9:59-62 And He said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at my house.
