The Way International Donates Rock of Ages Equipment

For: Immediate Release

(419) 753-2523 News Release
Each August people from around the world have headed to northwestern Ohio to enjoy good food, fun, fellowship, and the Word of God at The Way Internationalís Rock of Ages festival. The event has attracted tens of thousands, making available a-of-a-kind event to Way believers of all ages for 25 years. With the ministry now focusing on ìestablishing' the Word in the hearts and lives of its faithful followers, the Rock of Ages has been discontinued, and concentration is being put into producing classes, holding conferences, and training leadership.

The Way still plans to host events, but on a much smaller scale. This summer, July 20-27, two thousand of the ministryís committed followers will meet at its Headquarters auditorium for one week of in-depth teaching by Rev. L. Craig Martindale, President of The Way International. At its Indiana Campus, two two-week classes are on the agenda this summer because of an overwhelming response in numbers to the first class scheduled.

With the decision to discontinue the Rock of Ages, The Way International has been pleased to contribute some of their event inventory to the surrounding communities. New Knoxville School superintendent, Martin Fanning, and Chuck Braden of the New Knoxville Community Park were among those offered equipment, and both were grateful for the donations, such as 48' fans for the school and port-o-lets for the park. Thelma Thompson, Director of the Shelby County Civil Defense, expressed the appreciation of the Board of Commissioners for the 1,206 cots The Way donated, which came at a time when efforts were underway by the local Red Cross and her office to secure some extra cots. They were able to place cots in nine locations around the county. Also, the Auglaize County Sheriffís Department received 300 cots.
